Sofia Gutierrez; Teen Detective

I have been working on the development of a show and I wanted to share with you the first character pic of Sofia Gutierrez; Teen Detective. Growing up I started with the Hardy Boys, then to the Shadow and Doc Savage, as well as Batman and Sherlock Holmes. Characters that inspired me and captured my imagination with traits I wanted to emulate. Who are the fictional heroes young Latinas, like my granddaughter, have? That is what led me to create Sofia Gutierrez; Teen Detective. A smart, spunky girl who loves nothing better than a good mystery to solve. Aided with nothing but her penchant for solving puzzles and her ever present backpack, that seems to always have whatever one needs.

I came up with a first season arc of "impossible crimes" that would tinkle the viewer's/reader's interest and make one wonder, not just who did it, but how they did it. Take the first episode as an example. Sofia and her friends go to the circus primarily to see the trapeze artists. The acrobats are performing beautifully, spinning and somersaulting through the air as they fly between the trapeze. Then, one, Mario Orzon, misses the trapeze bar and falls through the air. He lands in the safety net below

and the crowd claps in relief. The net folds over as it lowered to the ground, causing the other circus performers to rush over to unfurl it to make sure Mario is ok. However, as they pull open the net, Mario has disappeared. How could he just vanish in front of hundreds of onlookers?

SOFIA IS ON THE CASE!
